Pool Closed

"Pool Closed" constitutes another segment within the "U.S." series, offering a visual narrative of a road trip across California and Nevada.

In terms of both technique and aesthetics, I intentionally stepped back a few decades to craft these images. Employing a Polaroid SLR680 camera paired with 600-type films, I embraced a method that serves as the analog equivalent to digital photography.

While the entire processing unfolds in the traditional manner with chemicals, the distinct charm lies in the fact that you can witness your photograph a mere minute after capturing it. Yet, despite this immediate gratification, a notable distinction persists from digital photography. Not only can you promptly view the outcome, but you also hold a tangible photograph in your hands, transforming the result into a material entity rather than a solely virtual one.
